is there a way to match the engine to the vin?
« on: October 13 2015, 04:17:01 PM »
I'm trying to find out how to match the VIN number to the block to be able to tell if its a "numbers matching" buick.
I'm not 100% positive its even possible with our cars, but thought I remembering someone saying once that you can.
I do know about the VIN being in the rear of the frame.
thanks!

Vin is stapmed on the top of the frame under the drivers side Aaron. It's also stamped on the block, and I believe it's on the drivers side as well. The flat where the starter would be if it was on the drivers side.
And remember, when dealing with children, silence may be golden but duct tape is silver.

thank you sir!
actually,  I'm enquiring about the pre-series one 3800. I just figured they'd be very similiar to the 109 3.8's. but I'm learning now that's not the case.
I recently purchased a 88 reatta for a daily driver,  but shortly thereafter starting hearing a tick tick tick.  it's a cracked flywheel.
engine is out now and I'm reseaingl it, and going through the trans
