BLM's Were High-Tell Me Why
« on: September 12 2015, 04:49:20 PM »
Okay, after the laying the smackdown on a Mustang last nite the BLM's had gone up to 139...from low 120's. Grabbed the flashlite and noted the vacuum hose had come off at the vacuum canister. No biggie, I'll fix it today and tie wrap it...like everything else. Went out and reattached it...and the BLM's stayed at 139. Scroll through the SM and the CC's are at zero...and IAC's over 100. Okay...dead 02 sensor. I swap in a new one and fire it up. After about 1 minute the BLM's slowly fall back to 122. Why?

Another question. Would the failing 02 skew my 02 readings for the tune on the car? Should I set Erics chip back to the default fuel settings...jus t to be safe? I can dial the fuel settings in pretty quick. :)

Did you take the battery cable off? If so it is already reset to defaults.

Rich...you'd piss yourself laughing if you saw how fast I set up the fueling/timing via the foot throttle. :)

I'm pretty sure the computer only uses the 02 sensor at part throttle. Once you go to PE the chip is tossing in as much fuel as you program in.

Thanks guys. For anyone interested...S teve has a complete BLM writeup on his site...with a link as well. Just got finished reading both. The BLM is long term fueling...so it took the ECM a minute to learn after I installed the new 02 sensor.
