200 Question
« on: July 30 2016, 07:39:26 PM »
Okay, I had a TR come in with a whine. I unhooked the convertor bolts...and the whine stopped...so it's in the trans. Sent the trans out...and was told the band and clutches were smoked. Installed the trans...and the whine is still there. Was told by a qualified 200 trans mechanic that the whine was from the pump...cuz of low pressure. The car is going back to the builder...and he can deal with it. Could the pump be smoked...and that's causing the whine?

Yes. It was cut open...cleaned ...rewelded... and balanced. Lines and cooler were flushed as well.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.
