Front drive was a bad idea then, and a bad idea now if you want to sell one to me. Owned one once, but it was a Buick. Never plan to buy another. At least they got a handle on fuel injection.

When you've seen enough incompetent city drivers on their all season slicks in the winter you do believe front wheel drive is appropriate for them.

My wife bought a Citation with the X-11 (high performance pkg) ...2.8liter V-6 + some extra stripes, etc.
Didn't end up keeping it more than a couple of years, little mileage.  Looks like we got lucky, as we sold it before any troubles arose.

Nothing but denying them a license and taking their vehicle could help many of the drivers I encounter everyday . Our winter summer spring or fall, season makes no difference to their driving incompetence. Though I will admit, any precipitation brings out the severely incompetent.

When they came out I kinda liked the X-11. They were pretty ugly but I thought anything with wide(r) tires and HO on the hood was cool. Stupid kid. My next door neighbors had a regular Citation for many years and I don't remember them having a lot of problems with it. When I worked at Tonawanda Engine Plant we were running 2.8L and 4.3L V-6's on the test dyno in the lab (oil consumptions tests on the 2.8L's and something else on the 4.3L's) and what a difference when the PLC ran the RPM's up! The 2.8L was pretty damn smooth but the 4.3L felt like it was ready to come apart. That had a lot to do with the 2.8L 60 deg V-6 being purpose built as a V-6 and the 4.3L 90 deg being a V-8 with two cylinder lopped off.

Remember the 4wd amc eagle?  I remember seeing these cars everywhere back in the day.  haven't seen one in many a year.

Still have my 84 Eagle Limited. Don't use it much, just had it out yesterday though. 2nd owner 90K on the clock. leather, electric windows and doors, full gauge set on the console. Use it mostly for bad weather but take it to shows once in awhile.
