RED-RETIRED EXTREMELY DANGEROUS
1993-2002 Camaro Question

The girlfriend is currently in the market for a 1993-2002 LT1/LS1 6 speed powered Camaro. My question is this. How much abuse can the 6 speed transmission and differential take if the engine is left in its stock configuration?

My dad's 1995 LT1 6-speed has 150,000 miles on it - original clutch, no drive train problems. Optispark on the LT1 is a POS. I would try and get a LS1 if possible.

LS1....put some sticky tires on it and the clutch/tranny/rear end might object with 5000 rpm slide the foot off the clutch launches, but otherwise it should be fine

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

I had an LS1 TA and drove the hell out of it for 70k miles, had 150 nitrous shot and K&N air filter only mods. No problems. Traded it in for a 03 Cobra.
