A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

I've yet to actually meet anyone in person thats had any problems with their flat tapped cammed motor due to not enough zinc.  an I'm not arguing one way or the other.  just stating my experiance.
I remember I was at a car show last year and went around and specifically asked several guys if they added zinc to their oil, or if they make sure their oil  has zinc.
I'll never forget what one older guy that was  original owner of a 71 unrestored stock torino said when I asked him.
he said,   "what the hell is zinc???"     lol     :cheers:

I just put some Joe Gibbs LS30 in my LS1 and I'm really happy with it. Valve train and piston slap quieted right down. Might put the other 6 quarts in the TBSS.

When did you get a TBSS?

I have been using Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic.  Just gives me piece of mind.  Don't know for sure if it helps or not.
Champion Irons w/T&D roller rockers, TA-61 turbo, 206/206 Comp Cam,  57 lb/hr Siemens Injectors, 3000 stall PTC, PTE Plenum w/RJC Power Plate, 70 mm Accufab Throttle Body, RJC 325 Megacooler, TurboTweak 5.7/ Alky Control w/M1 methanol, 23 psig on the street, Puddn' Power engine, Borla Exhaust

Found it.

http://speedtalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=35836&sid=95147aeebe9a284845784b4cb7bf7f1d

Quote
11. 5W50 Castrol Edge with Syntec API SN, synthetic, formerly Castrol Syntec, black bottle = 75,409 psi
zinc = 1252 ppm
phos = 1197 ppm
ZDDP = 1200 ppm

Overall the numbers aren't extremely favourable from a wear protection perspective... at least compared to something closer to what I have been traditionally using (20w50 VR1):

Quote
3. 10W30 Valvoline VR1 Conventional Racing Oil (silver bottle) = 103,505 psi
zinc = 1472 ppm
phos = 1544 ppm
ZDDP = 1500 ppm

However, when looking at this statement it becomes clear that there is/may be a trade off:

Quote
And keep in mind for comparison with the oils below, that earlier oil industry testing has found that above 1,400 ppm, ZDDP INCREASED long term wear, even though break-in wear was reduced. And it was also found that ZDDP above 2,000 ppm, started attacking the grain boundaries in the iron, resulting in camshaft spalling. So, no matter what zinc fans might “believe”, there is such a thing as "too much of a good thing".

All taken with a grain of salt...

My only reservation is cold weather start-ups. I am talking about those -20*C (and colder) days when I have to roll the car outside to work on the truck in the Winter.  I heard some freaky noises trying to start that frozen 20w50 oil this year; and going out to run the car for 15mins every hour on the hour is annoying... and wastes gas.
