The tree weekend part 1.. Friday

Daughter leaves for work, back inside in a few minutes.
Dad- you know about THAT tree....

Head out to the driveway- whew, missed all the cars.
Nice tee-pee formed against the trees on the other side of the drive.

Hmm- push a little- OK, stable enough. Chop the inner branches...yay, we got room.
Quickly  entire fleet squirts thru the opening out of harms way with their navigators.

Now, drop it across the yard?- nope - power lines.
Rope the top, pull the top into the street with the truck?- nah better not.

Locate winch, chains and come-alongs, cordon off the street (just in case)
Winch the butt back into the drive toward the house, furrows in the garden be dam*-ed.
Drops some more but  still hung up, intertwined with his brothers.

Fire up the mighty SACHS-DOLMAR

(THE original chainsaw).

Sectioned at my highest reach the trunk falls away, the remainder drops lower but still tenaciously clings to his brethren at the tips. Finally after some vigorous pulls it drops into the drive, ready to be sacrifice to the 3/8'sth chain.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.
