noise&oil!!!!!!!!

well after gettin all the wiring together  its fire up time,,,
so fire it up and bang bang bang kinda like two pan lids smacking together.  umm ok maybe flywheel, pull it apart looks good.
ok start it up no convertor connected banging still there not as bad, ok let it run for a few minutes thats when i notice oil!!!
appears to be comming from behind the driver motor mount.
now im assuming the worst
could it be something other that a cracked blocked??

rather than guessing what it may be...clean the oil off and see where it is coming from/

As far as the noise, make sure the flexplate is not cracked....did noise speed up when you revved it?  Stay the same? get less?  Might be the oil pan touching the crank, or the pick up not clearing properly, or loose....
