Any event, anywhere, is OK. Local/Regional, National, etc
There is an event calendar function enabled in this forum as well, I made an example one - my birthday! As you see, it will out it at the top of the post.

This links to an event listing on the main forum page under the Calendar, left-hand pane - so I would recommend adding event details and dates with your posts. I will add them if I see they aren't added by the poster.
