I think the soda can is just part of being young with no $$$ to spend on the car.

My father and I used soda cans and tar to fix floorboards before.

i used a old coffee can for a cold air intake.... worked pretty well actually...

and the first AC pic.. sylvan can vouch for.. a poor truckers APU.

funny story...was in Iowa city in my buddies Buick Century and the exhaust broke in half and a hanger broke...a couple of coat hangers and a soda can let us make it back to Chicago
