Installed a new Boost gauge and scanmaster today.
« on: September 12 2005, 01:37:07 AM »
After fighting with my POS computer this weekend (See "My computer sucks" thread)
I installed a scanmaster and a pillar mounted Boost gauge. I used to have a cheap
Sunpro gauge hanging off of my glove box, and I'd plug a scan tool into my ALDL
when I'd go to the track. I made a trade with Littlesixsteve for the VDO boost gauge
and scanmaster. My car isn't so ghetto anymore. :)

Feels good doesn't it? I used to have an air/fuel gauge on the the console. I didn't have a pod, so I cut a hole in the box and taped it to the console.

I like scan tools though, just because they record.

I just got a new Scanmaster 2.01 - I gotta get it installed so I can tune this POS.

Seems like everything's breaking on it - and with the funds from my house sale - I'm wondering if I shouldn't get a different ride..

Keep the ride. Buy a Camry for a reliable beater.
The scanmaster I have is version 2.1, but I have no idea
what the difference would be ?

I thought the difference was a faster read/display....pretty sure that's all it is. Now you need to get a knock gauge, Rob----it kinda sucks to try and look at the Scanmaster while flooring it to make sure you're not knocking.

I was thinking about one of the T-Top gauge pods from Postons, and
putting a fuel pressure gauge with the electronic sender and a knock gauge
in it. But I've heard that the electric senders don't last ?

I think the SM 2.1 shows your highest knock retard and O2 millivolts at WOT (above 3.5v).

I think...
