first trip out this year....wanders

Finally got it out this morning. Last year I put wider tires on and it seems to wander all over the uneven pavement. With the stock tires it wasnt to bad, the wider one's really amplified the problem. Is it very costly to tighten up the front end? What would be involved? The car only has 55000 miles on it but maybe tie-rod ends are worn?? Or maybe its something else? I dont know much about this??
Thanks alot!

If you want to tighten it up just by alignment, give it as much caster as you can. You still want to stay about 1/4 degree camber, but whatever shims you have to work with will determine your caster adjustment. Typically, if you look at the shim packs, the pack toward the front of the car will have noticeably less shims when it is heavy on positive caster. Total toe set to 1/8"

I would say the same other than about 1/16" toe
Also, what brand/type of tires?
It is possible that you have wear in the suspension as well. An honest front end guy would tell you.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

If I have a customer that wants the car tightened up a bit I just usually head toward 1/8", otherwise you bet 1/16" it is.

This should help you some but read all of it so you get a better idea of what you need.

A wider tire rides on more of the road imperfections. Can be normal and the front end is fine.
