Nuclear is the way to go....I may be biased as it looks like I will be working in that arena in the very near future.

There's a flap currently going on here in Oklahoma about the EPAs requirment for our largest coal fired electrical plants in the Eastern part of the state to install scrubbers and continue using Wyoming coal. The electric company wants to convert to natural gas instead since we have so much of it here. The EPS says no and the utilitys costs for the scrubber retrofit will be well above 1 Billion dollars. Predicted rate increase of 15% will accompany the new cleaner coal plant. (they don't say whether those deisel trains carrying the coal are clean though)

So as far as I can see it, the biggest problem we have with power in the USA is that the governent has too damn much of it!

I did work for the Air Force but there's little comparison to that agency and the one that's making such a mess of the country today.
