Observation I saw on TB's today

I was looking at the board traffic and it's got listed 200-250 people on there but as you can see the posting has dropped significatly on most of the
sections. Yet you look at the Timeout room and there is like 80 plus people in there.
Just makes me curious as to wether they the "Owners" are adding traffic to make like that board is still going strong. possibly padding numbers to show advertisers.
Oh well I'll go crawl back under my MAGNA rock and keep watching the snow melt!

My guess is that most of the folks who claimed to be done with the site forever are still trolling because they can't stand to be away.

Nothing to do with lurkers or Buick people logged on.  It's how the board parameters are set and outside search engines, links treat the site. I seen this on other sites too.  Seeing TB with 2000  headcount at 4AM tells you something.

I have installed mods to this board to make the counts more realistic.

It's damn near impossible to keep all spammers and such out of the counts - but some boards are ridiculous.

That, and I think you can set the parameters to show how long a person has been visiting the site for.  Some boards have it as little as 5 minutes provided they've clicked something and some boards will have it as 24 hours since the last click for activity.
