The only record they have is the policy number you put on the form whey you renew plates( I think)Did you change polices?

If he changed policies it is the responsibilty of the new company to notify the DMV...but they often get forgetful about this. Or, as I said above, if there are any incorrect digits or spellings it can create this problem too.
Call your insurance company first and have them retransmit the data to the DMV.
AJ,I am wondering if I will now get one of those forms for all of my vehicles?
I got pulled over once, seems my license was suspended due to lack of insurance. Turned out Progressive had changed the class of my insurance, sent the cancellation letter, but somehow the new policy letter that should have immediately followed, didn't get there. The cop took my license, told me he was doing me a favor by not taking me to jail. I got my proof from Progressive, went to the DMV, showed them that, got a new license, and it was done. This was in the US though.
