Fuck it, I lodged a complaint with the BBB under their "dishonest advertising" category because I really hate when grown men can't just tell me the fucking truth in the first place. Basically, the dealershiT made an offer too good to be true and kept insisting to me that it was going to be honored... all the way up to the end when they just plum forgot about all the promises. Fucking livid was I. Below is the profanity free BBB copy:

Post it on the closest Craigslist to the dealer. if they advertise on a cheap local weekly classified paper (They are called "The Flyer" here, Pennysaver, etc), see if there's any consumer protection divisions/departments at any local TV stations, send it to competing dealerships (you may get a better deal from one that really wants to move cars) Hell, print flyers with the info and spend a nice relaxing day in front of the dealer handing out flyers on the public sidewalk. Hell, look up the owner and salesperson at the county clerk office (public information) and put that on the flyer too.

I would make it my mission to be a pain in their ass.

The letter to GM was rehearsed half of the night and might still happen because shit, my name has NEVER been on the title of a vehicle that wasn't GM and recently their little fanboy has been getting a little irritated. Look, I *know* that my share of their bailout was probably $37, but jeez, can I get a little love here? Furthermore, when my transmission puked the forward sprag I was out $1700 that I didn't have because (at the time) The General didn't feel like standing behind their work for more than 36,000 miles/3 years...which is to say, not even long enough for a customer to pay the thing off. On top of that, I think that if they were as unapologetic and cheap with the labor unions we *all* might be better off for it. My complaint was processed at the BBB this morning and they say they'll email it to the dealership tonight. I'm not expecting shit beyond a coupon for a dicounted oil change ($114 lol), but I am sick and goddamned tired of always being the victim/dipshit/dope. Fuck this bait-and-switch garbage.

The official/initial response from the dealership is that it clearly states in the fine print that they will deduct for 1. Excessive wear and tear (find me ANY) 2. Reconditioning costs (how many quarters does the vacuum at the car wash take?) 3. Prior damage (Chip in windshield). How much does it cost the dealership to replace a windshield AT COST? They also note that their trade in values are based on NADA estimates. Well, first of all- NADA says nothing about 55%, so that pretty much illustrates that they made the offer in bad faith. Furthermore, NADA and KBB both estimate the 'average' trade in on my vehicle to be around $14,000- a far cry from 55% but still significantly more than their low-ball offer of $10,200. They claim that they are "trying to contact the customer" but my phone hasn't rung all day. I have seven days to let the BBB know if they've resolved the issue (they wont, but I'll still ding their A+ rating for being liars), so I'll give it a few days before I respond. I know full well that if they publicly claim that they'll honor the add, they'll be under my truck looking for every dead bug they can find. But wait, I'll tell them, "You've already looked at my truck, right? Unless you're gonna tell me that you gave me an estimate without thoroughly doing so...?".
