I swapped to the fiberglass front bumper... and then back to the stocker when I sold it. Putting that bumper on yourself is a PIA. I put several layers of painters tape on the fillers when I re and re'd the front so as not to scratch it. Get a helper if you can.

Slide down...he also has a vid. You could call him as well. He's a one man show...so it may take a few calls for him to pick up the phone.

General Buick Tech / crossflow orientation

I have an ATR crossflow exhaust.  In hindsight, I don't think it was installed well, but I never payed attention to the muffler until I tried to re-install my fuel tank this week.  The muffler is probably 30 degrees from vertical, with the lower end hitting the fuel tank and the upper end hitting the rear-end.  (It may not have been touching previously, but 2 hangers broke free).  The exit pipe on the passenger side winds around and over the inlet.

I think similar systems (RJC) have the muffler vertical, and the exit winds behind the inlet.

Anybody know how it should look?  It's installed with band clamps instead of pinch clamps, but it's been on a long time.  My guess is it will need some persuasion to come apart.  But I would like to get it vertical and off the rear end and fuel tank.

so what happens with the pieces you pulled - door handles, bumpers, etc?  Do they paint those separately?  I would think so, but the only time I had a car painted it was an insurance job and I didn't touch it.  In my case, I'll need to replace the bumper fillers and the windshield.

General Buick Tech / Re: Fuel tank and pump, electrolysis on tank? New pump?

I finally got it started today.

TLDR:
I can't seem to get the tank strapped up properly.  I doubt the tank is thicker than the OEM but it acts like it.  I had to loosen the bolts near the axle all the way but the loop on the front is still about a 1/2" from the hole.
sooooooo
I used some tie wire to hold it up for testing purposes.  Took a few attempts to build fuel pressure, but once I did, it started right up and idled well in the garage.  I let it go until the thermostat opened and the radiator fan came on.  No other obvious new issues or SES light.  Except the scanmaster did not power up.  Still have some work to do to get it street-worthy, but now I can get it out of the garage if I want.
I'll hold on to the old tank until I get this installed correctly for comparison purposes.

Selling parts off the parts truck is officially profitable! I've made my money back +$225 not counting all the parts I've used and stocked away!

The black sheep gates are nice.
I’ve heard the vs racing piston style is nice as well and is more in my budget
