Whoa it's been awhile since I have been here but I just got Slash's new album and it kicks ass fellas.  Lots of guest appearances totally worth a listen.

I know the guitars are probably sub par but I heard decent reviews on them and they will be good for a beater guitar.  I have some extra cash and am thinking about getting one of the Gibson Les Paul copies. I read that they are not mahogany and they are basswood but I figure that is still better then plywood lol.

I have been practicing some easier metal songs that are in drop d.  Been kind of sticking to that tuning for now cause I dont want to keep tuning up and down.  Also just started to practice alt picking and my speed is picking up.
