You're just fine,,,20# @ idle fine,,,10# for each 1000rpm just fine also (cruise, etc.),,, 20W-50 also just fine (and it makes one feel better!). Don't know what your climate is (or condition of car garaging/storage) so the higher viscosity doesn't give you potential starting issues.
Your build looks amazingly similar to my last/former GN.

Yepper Steve, seems we all tend to somehow gravitate back to our "roots" vehicles/memories. Hence my black 51 Merc cpe (past 20 yrs), similar to one I graduated HS with in 58 & off-to college... Some vivid traveling trips/memories in a friends 70 Dodge Polara wagon w/ 440 engine & bad accelerator pump. We would load up 4 golfers and gear for week-long trips & travel to upstate NY (in mid-80's). We appropriately named it "The Lurchmobile", and were lucky we didn't have accidents when pulling out into traffic. I'm recalling in a dual-action tailgate also...? They seem known for tranny issues? The MGBs make the Miatas look large/full-sized... Thx for the recent chat and ALL the GN help over the past years--now time for my nap (it's almost 9:30, but a.m. !!)

Steve, it looks like your project vehicles are becoming smaller (in size) with age--however, the Green Mile appears to be a BIG exception. I've really thinned the herd, from 4 to 1, and my last project in & out was also "much smaller" (in size only)--an 80 MGB Roadster.

OK, based on length (11" eye-2-eye) etc., these are definitely UCA's instead of LCA's. I'll now advertise as such--ANY INTEREST IN PURCHASE out there??. I'll list them appropriately in "stuff for sale". Thx for ID help ,,, pix attached for reference.

Any update here? Did a hose literally explode/blow-out (never heard of that@ <30 psi)? Steve was on the right track re: hose poping off IC to TB (stock setup)...If you have a front mount, then there are more possibilities to pop a hose loose both in & out of FMIC. I once went to silicone hoses (expanding blue-theme under hood) & SS t-clamps & they apparently didn't tighten enuf (bottoming out), & popping loose after several runs (24# boost). As high boost lets off, the hose(s) tend to slip back on & don't create a prob @ normal lower boost operation. I went back to original type hoses & clamps & sold the "slicker" silicone stuff.

4-5 yrs ago I bo't what I thought was a pr of boxed stock lower control arms...I since sold my GN w/o installing same. I was recently told, however that they were not LCAs but Upper CAs...Could someone please give me the dimension (length eye-to-eye) of LCAs so I can determine what I really have. As they're now buried in my stg shed, I can't provide a quick measurement of same... I would now like to sell them--but don't want to advertise inappropriatel y...Thx
