General Buick Tech / Re: My first build! Guidance is always welcomed.
« on: November 30 2014, 12:05:30 AM »
Well the car is complete, trans is in with all the billet goodies, volt booster, twin nozzles, injectors....d one. Car is running pretty good, blm's are where they need to be. Maybe a little rich leading up to WOT, but will sort that out shortly with some seat time, I'm a little nervous to punch WOT, I've eased into to ¾ throttle to test my boost limits, which I believe I'm able to hold 23-25 psi and that's the lowest I can make it. Getting used to the PTC converter, totally different than the 12 inch converter I had. I've installed an audible knock alarm to help with preventative blow ups. So far the car pulls very strong and I know it's pig rich to boot, and it's only in brief moments that I ease into the peddle. I think before I go any further I need to retorque the head bolts. PS. Porting wastegate hole cured boost issues.

I suppose there is a possibility of leaking seal on the intake side of the turbo...

Little update, broke trans forward drum on first week of tuning. month later turbo was leaking oil out turbine seal. ended up putting billet parts throughout trans, ptc 9.5 stall, added new 6466 turbo, 80 lbs injectors, dual nozzle and volt booster. Cant pull WOT yet cause my evo wastgate is not controlling boost. looking next to increase down pipe size and larger wastgate. Becoming a long endever.

General Buick Tech / Making the Precision 6466 jump
« on: September 14 2014, 10:48:23 AM »
Hey fellas well I'm moving up the ladder, leaving my Tnetics 6165. Was wondering if you guys are familiar with the 6466, I'm trying to figure out if I need the .63 housing or the .82, I like top end power but does the .63 generate that much more bottom end than the .82? would ported out iron heads even flow enough to handle an .82 housing? Also I have a 3 bolt flange on my manifold, was thinking to get a 4 bolt turbo housing with 3 bolt adapter I case I get better 4 bolt flange headers....is there that big of an improvement with a 4 bolt flange or would I just be wasting money since I'm running Ported iron heads? Currently using PTC 2800 stall. 210 215 roller set up, Harland rockers and all supporting mods. Thanks for any insight.

General Buick Tech / Re: Chip question
« on: May 24 2014, 06:20:28 PM »
Good news I got it fired up , had to take 20% fuel out and is running smoother! had to make some internal changes on the GEN2 for its communication with extender G chip, so I guess my idle is good now. I eased into it alittle and my knock alarm started raising hell just as boost started to ramp up....so frustrating. Starting to wish I could hit the rewind button and go with the no MAF set up. It took me 6 months to get these parts and engine together all due to a head gasket failure. If this SOB blows again cause I'm to stupid to tune the car I don't know what the hell is next....this I know...I'm broke hehe.

General Buick Tech / Chip question
« on: May 23 2014, 09:24:48 PM »
I have a TT chip, however I just got in a extender G chip so I can take advantage of the Gen2 options. I just installed it and at idle the car runs real rough like a super lopy cam and blows out quite a bit of smoke, if I tap the gas it acts like it's going dead and goes back to a crazy sounding cam idle.
Any suggestions? Chip was program with all my upgrades as far as I know. When I put TT chip back in all is good...Thanks for feedback...

General Buick Tech / Re: Boost Help...can't get it under control.

I have a delta gate that everyone says sucks instead of blows. :icon_lol:    Lowest boost I can get is 14psi but I can easily go up to 30psi.  And it stays at exactly where I put it at with no spiking.  You're hooking it up in boost sensing mode.  I basically set mine up so I have a low pressure side on the wastegate and a high pressure side.  I don't connect to the boost sensing port on the turbo.  I have a high pressure side and low pressure side connected to my controller.  I don't vent one side of the controller.  Working with differential pressure cells I thought this method would work much better and it definitely does.

Diagram picture on paper by chance, I'm not sure I follow, my fault as I am new to this stuff. Thanks

It is a external tnetics evolution wastegate, I have a hose coming from the backside of the WG and turbo T'd together to the inlet of the BC, then a hose from the outlet of the BC to the front side of the WG. Only way I can keep the boost down is to peddle the throttle, not easy. Texas T you might have a good point about wastegate capacity, how is that figured?

General Buick Tech / Boost Help...can't get it under control.
« on: April 12 2014, 09:50:06 PM »
Hey Gents, my boost is shooting up to 30 psi very rapidly...I wanted to keep it around 25 or so. The Evolution wastegate has a 20 pound spring I think, at least it takes that much pressure to accuate the rod in the gate. It has a 0-25 psi T-netics boost controller. I has all new rubber vacuum lines and double checked the line arrangements. Any tips on what I'm missing? Thanks

I didn't do that...they just soaked in oil for 2 weeks. When Installed I brought pushrod clearance to 0 and went another ¾ turn. I've never had rollers so I'm not sure what they're to sound like....I suppose I could pull the covers and given another half a turn.

On another note it seems like it took a while for my lifters to fill up, they sound better now and evenly make the same sound across the board, however they just seem a little noisier than the flat tappet setup I had before, I would think a roller setup would be quieter. Any thoughts.?

Well car had a wobble at idle, freakin external harmonic was wrong choice, looks like I needed the neutral balanced type. I put the stocker hub on and it cleared right up. Still a little chicken shit with running my car hard into boost, richend it up alittle and put my timing in a safe zone, still ran strong as he'll at 28 psi. Coming back my exhaust took a dump, shit was dragging, looks like all the rubber hangers gave up at once. Also occurred a leaky radiator due to my ass not paying attention when install electric fan, bottom screw stabbed it somehow. I just hope the frustration will pay off one day so I can actually enjoy driving this thing.  Thanks for the support.

Hey guys do you all think my exciter ring is deep enough into the sensor? Today I install wide band and knock alarm...HooooR aaa!  Thanks fellas for the feedback!

For Sale/Trade/Want To Buy / Enkei Mesh 92 center caps

I'm looking for 4 old school Einki 92 center caps for my mesh wheels. Thanks!

Harland's installed, wasn't that bad, also got the BHJ balancer on, it was a bitch. I set my roller cam bushing by adding plastigauge to front of bushing plus gasket difference, shimmed to that number minus the clearence. Till next time....
