Would you care to define your goals? Yes, I am aware the goals change over time.

When I wouldn't bite, they started talking about hemi powered antique limo's and shit. Not many can say that Don Gartlitts walked his wife to be down the isle. That is super cool! It was all true. 183

You are certainly correct though. The inherited 289 went 7.75 eighth and 11.77 quarter. Pump gas street motor in '79. When I got involved with it, it was going 12.6-12.7. 184

And Sportsman Class is one of the most competitive. Once again...congra ts!Not congrats to me, but i will tell him. He is quite the Billy. His dad parked his gutted, primered street/strip falcon in 1979. His son, Billy drug it out of the weeds 6 yrs ago. He fired that mother up and went drag racing. Called it the 'Chicken Hawk'. It was a +.030 289, 850 dp, 4 spd, leaf sprg car. I was asked to help to get it to idle below 2200. It had a somewhat large bumpstick in it. 188

The last points race of '18, a friend asked to film the car. Billy agreed.
In the 5th rd, Billy got pre-staged and staged thru the slots in his front rims. I caught it. It will not happen again. Instead of 14+ inches of rollout, he probably had 5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nTfAd0s0KA&feature=youtu.be 189

I wish I had not posted that. No matter how carefully worded, I never fail to side track someone's thread.
Yes, I have been to Drag Week events 2 of the last 3 yrs. I was at the US Nationals last yr. In all possible weeks of '018, I had 3 free weekends away from local tracks. I go for free. Not sure what that proves. I apologize for the hijack. I am out. 191

If my dad were alive he would certainly agree. Is that your rifle?
My dad actually believed the M 1 was created though a combination of Divine Intervention and John Garands faith. 192

General Auto Tech / Re: nocooler's firechicken thread« on: January 05 2019, 04:28:10 PM »Do not forget stall with a non L/U converter. If the converter supplier won't make a recommendation, you will have to guess. I guess 7% for 5500 stall or higher, for example. IMO, the difference in one ratio (3.25-3.5) is hundreds of a sec in a quarter, unless the car needs 60 ft help. Converters are not an exact science. I have known people who have bought 4 or 5 to get right. Expensive education. Agai n, my opinions. Expensive appearing transmission. 194
