Watch Scoobs vid on how to drain the tank faster than you can guzzle a beer.
I looked and could not find it. It is something I do quite a lot. I currently use the in tank pump and apparently that is hard on them.

I do not see socialized medicine here in my lifetime.

Thanks to Obamacare and Keynesian economics, Obama lost a record number of seats, federal and state level. 1049 in 8 years. A record unlikely to be broken. He was the best thing to happen to the Republican party in my lifetime. He is just as responsible for Trump as Carter was for Reagan.

However, the Leninist 'gaslighting' of the children in the educational system should win out over time.

JMO.

No parent should outlive their children.  I can't imagine this.
X2.
I remember Ed from another board and I remember things about him.
My condolences.

IHADAV8 Playground / Re: Low milage GN for sale
« on: February 07 2019, 11:39:38 AM »
This got my attention. A number of things are naturally odd about it. As with any car that age w/low mileage.

First, it is being sold by a body shop. Which is probably the answer to the 200 miles of playing. A lot of high end body shops have dealers licenses and dealers plates. It does not answer for the 13k miles. I would guess, the Carfax should show the last time licensed. A competent body shop would certainly be able to produce a 'ringer', but a Carfax would reflect the donor. The odometer looks legit (in the picture), but the car has probably been painted. I wonder if it has whatever that rough shit is on the lower portion of the car, like mine.

A long time friend was the best body man/painter I have known. He made a living rebuilding late model/low mileage totaled Trans Am's and Z28's. However, they were not 'ringers'.

I will follow this sale.

a couple months at the most.

Sooo..., if I have driven my GN about 40 miles in 22 yrs, I may need to have my injectors cleaned?

That car may not be painted. Most of the go fast/turn left guys went to a wrap years ago.
I would probably get a plain refrigerator white wrap and put a large bar code on the roof. I would then call Walmart in Bentonville. For $2-$3 mil and a couple of Great Value stickers, they could sponsor my Generic Racecar. Money, no coupons.

a mid to lower 6 second pass in the 1/8th
6.35 is considered to be about 10.0 quarter, NA. I have seen power adder's go 10.0 w/6.50 1/8. Low 6's is making some serious steam in a Regal size car. Race cars at that level can get on top of you quick, IMHO. Be safe.

Converter went out today!

If that is a custom built converter (read expensive), my advice would be to touch base with the supplier.

One of the guy's I help lost a diode in a custom that had a previous free re-stall. It was repaired for the shipping and the cost of just the part. It had just under 500 1/8 passes and 3 yrs on it.
It doesn't hurt to try.

That is a thorough reply.
I will admit, the daily driver part got my attention. IMO, a GN can be an exceptional street car. That is certainly why I wanted one. I have seen a couple of astounding examples.
Thanks. I will follow this while in my winter hibernation mode.

Cool stuff
Closest I've been to Don Garlits was stopping at his museum. :)
You beat me. I have been by it possibly a 100 times. Never stopped because fill in the blanks. A lifelong hero of mine, donated a lot of stuff to it.

Thanks to all, for the reactions to this thread. I will relay them to the responsible party. Among other things, Billy Teeter is the mechanic, transmission builder, chassis builder, fabricator, body man, painter, driver, banker, etc. In other words, he has a lot in common with some on this board.

This is a goal that took 2 yrs. He missed the tall trophy by 2 passes (10 points) in '017. My hat is off to points racers. The track is 95 miles from his house.

I finally found a thread where I could not hijack the Original Poster's thread. Who knew?

Would you care to define your goals? Yes, I am aware the goals change over time.

Not many can say that Don Gartlitts walked his wife to be down the isle.
That is super cool!
Yeah, when I first heard about it, I thought the 3 of them had conspired to jerk me around. When I wouldn't bite, they started talking about hemi powered antique limo's and shit.
It was all true.

And even tougher to stay on a dial with a stick.
It is a 347, C4, for I think 4 yrs now. You are certainly correct though.

The inherited 289 went 7.75 eighth and 11.77 quarter. Pump gas street motor in '79. When I got involved with it, it was going 12.6-12.7.

If anyone thinks bracket racing is easy, I suggest they go out and try it. And Sportsman Class is one of the most competitive. Once again...congra ts!
Not congrats to me, but i will tell him. He is quite the Billy. Not many can say that Don Gartlitts walked his wife to be down the isle.

That’s a pretty cool falcon!
My uncle had a white Falcon but not as fast!
What does the car run?
In 1500 ft air, 1.39/6.53 within +.01 sec. In 3000ft air, 1.42/6.70 varies about +.03. Not bad for a long life Bracket car on 9" rubber.
