Title: This One's For Steve
Post by: Scoobum on October 21 2022, 01:16:59 PM
Steve you prolly remember this walk around I did of Kevins mopar. I just ran across this. Watch him chase the guy down...unfortu nately he breaks out...goes faster than the ET he posted on his windshield. You'll here him say 6.21 at 114 in the 1/8th. The car was in the 5's. At the 5 minute mark you'll see him roll by my trailer and GN. I always hated being the faster car as you'd have to wait and then chase the other car down. You'd have a tendency to red light or do what Kevin did and blow by them before the line. I was always an enigma as I'd park way out out back with the Superpro guys cuz I didn't wanna be bothered by anyone as I was getting the car set up for each round. I'd rarely talk to anyone until I was eliminated.

I remember this one.  With a good set of heads, the 440 makes one helluva strong engine.  I saw quite a few hemis go down against the 440's back in the sixties.  The hemi's had a very narrow power band that got started close to six thousand rpm while the wedges had it all the way thru.

Engine Masters has done a lot of engine pulls comparing them and it's obvious why the wedge engines did so well against them on the street.
