It's funny you mention about the shop manual since I do have the complete shop manual in 4 binders, but there are located on top of the garage shelf where the front end of the car is blocking my access. I do have other in PDF format, but for some reason it's call service manual and it don't give much info, like torque spec.

One more thing Steve, I want to thank you very much for surjection the type of ignition wire you use and I got the Taylor Cable 98024 ThunderVolt 50 Series Ignition Wire Set.
After finishing installing the both headers, and crossover pipe, the engine was running a little rough. I checked both ignition module, and coil pack with new backup and both reading were the same. I also replaced the spark plug with NGK UR4, and now after wires replacement the engine runs good.
Thanks again for the info

Took me awhile to figure out GM called the center link a relay rod.  LOL
Glad the plug wires fixed it!

Here is the link to the factory shop manual where I get so much information including torques from.  http://www.ihadav8.com/forum/index.php?topic=6406.0

I already have that and here is another one I have for many years ago, but you have to use Internet Explorer, as it won't open with Firefox, or Window 10.
 I will Email you
Let me know if work for you or anyone
I created a file folder and place the folder on your Screen, open the folder, place mouse right button on Index.html and open with Internet Explorer.
The one you and I have already is on the right side, and the one on the left is 1986-87 BUICK G-BODY
ILLUSTRATED PARTS HOME CATALOG.
In between both then is trash, and if you look on the bottom of the page it has I believe the creator
It seems this site won't allow me to add a folder only individual files, and most likely it won't go through since one of the files has an exe ext.
Maybe you can see if you any luck adding to this for additional viewers

If you have the factory shop manual, it has all the torques, specs, etc. in it.

Maybe I need to make a video showing how to use the service manual in it’s current format?

I appreciate the YouTube, and I do have that service manual, but I don't see the Center Link and the Pitman Arm nut torque spec.
Do you know where the torque spec is located on the service manual?
Thanks

Section 3B6 page 5

Page 2 of 3B6 has a picture of the linkage so I knew I was in the right place and what it was called.

The online link to the manual eliminates most of the non turbo stuff and makes it much faster to find what you are looking for

I do understand that part Steve, at first for a couple of seconds is when I realize the relay rod was actually called center link.
My question for nocooler is not needed the making a video showing how to use the service manual in it’s current format, but where in the service manual is the location of the torque spec.
Steve, What you gave me of Section 3B6 page 5
Page 2 of 3B6 has a picture of the linkage is not from the downloaded service manual, but the shop manual which is different than the service manual, or are you claiming it's both the same service manual?

Yes, I took them both from the downloadable turbobuick shop manual which is the edited and scanned original GM shop manual for Buicks.

The first one I posted is screen capture of the part of the page.  You see the box that says torque specs?  45 ft-lbs for the relay rod to the pitman arm.  I believe that is what you asked for.

Steve, The torque info you gave me is what I needed, and used.
I was trying to find on where the location of that torque info you gave me. I couldn't find it on the service manual.

Well, I have given you the page number and a screen shot from that page which clearly shows a box that is labeled Application with the various torques for each part.  I don't understand why you don't understand that that picture is from page 3B6-5.

For anyone else that does not recall the history of the down-loadable shop manual, it was put together by Jeremy Wood (no relation to me or NoCooler) and Jim Testa.  They went thru the the factory manual which is over a 1000 pages and pulled out all the pages that are pertinent to the turbo buick and put them on a dvd that they sold.  Later they started giving it away and posted the link online which is listed in it's own sticky on this board and also listed on my site vortexbuicks-etc.com.  There are those that don't know how to download and mount the file on their computers so NOCOOLER made a video showing a step by step means of getting it up and running.

It is extremely useful and I refer to it all the time.

My apologies to all since I read again looking on the service manual and found the location.
I think it's best for me not to read after 9:00pm, I miss a lot of sentences.
Thanks Again Steve

For those others wondering, I went to the table of contents of downloadable manual and saw that 3 looked like the section I needed.  Then I went to 3b and when I did, I saw 3b6 dealt with G bodies so I started looking for the torque information for the center link which I saw from a picture was called a relay rod in the manual.
