Dude, they're gonna have a buttload of rarities for sale at the show- Thanatopsis, Inbred Mountain, The Elephant Man's Alarm Clock, Gorgone, Dawn Of The Deli Creeps, and on and on. In my personal opinion, Elephant... is the best sounding of them all. And it's also the only one that, at this time, is truly 'tour only'.

Here's a taste of Elephant...:

...and the whole CD is that good. If you show up in Vegas with the same t-shirts as me, I'll blush. I'm excited as hell to hear what your son thinks of the show, too!

Who?

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Serj Tankian comes out and does a few tunes with him.

Yeah, Serj and a few others are coming out. Check your My Space bulletin board. Buckethead has an anouncement indicating the special guests.

Should I get Thanatopsis and Inbred Mountain? I am not all that interested in the Deli Creeps stuff.

I don't have Thanatopsis yet, but Inbred Mountain is worth the $15 I think. You had better be ready for me to hound you for details tomorrow or Monday.

From the Buckethead post on My Space:

VERY SPECIAL BUCKETHEAD & FRIENDS SHOW TONIGHT!
Tonight's Buckethead show at the Henry Fonda Theater In Los Angeles will be a once in a lifetime event!

The show will feature very special guests Serj from System of a Down and Efrem Shulz from Death by Stereo, among others performing songs from Enter The Chicken on stage live!

Also opening will be beatbox master Kid Beyond and super-hot Trance DJ Bassnectar.

This show is not to be missed. Come One, Come All!

Hound away. I will give a full report when I can get back to the computer.

T minus 6 hours and counting...

Damn, I want to see that Kid Beyond shit!
Title: Re: Racer X
Post by: DCEPTCN on April 21 2006, 06:17:54 PM
Dude, I'm hella jealous! That Kid Beyond dude is AMAZING for what he does. When I saw him I couldn't believe that I was actually really enjoying a damn beatboxer. That sounds like it's gonna be a raging show. Due to it being in Hollywood and Serj being there, it will likely be packed like a motherfucker, but living in Los Angeles, you're probably accustomed to that sardine feeling, lol. Man, I'm excited as hell, here.

They are still pimping the show as if there are seats available. Yeah, the sardine can concerts are more of the norm than not.

do I get these CDs before the show?

Sadly, one must choose wisely between rushing the stage to get a good spot or immediately buying your CD(s) because they will likely be sold out by the time the show is over. Don't know what to tell ya on that one bub.

I am not going to rush the stage with my son. I will stay where he will not get crushed and the Henry Fonda is small enough we can see from anywhere.

Found your number, I will call you with gory details.

Good thinking, B puts on a family-friendly show but the crowds can never be accurately gauged. Sure, gimme a call tomorrow....ju st not before noon, I'm usually still sleeping it off, lol.

So how was the show anyways? What did you buy?
Title: Racer X
Post by: Racer X on April 23 2006, 12:25:32 PM
The show was awesome! This guy is flat out a WITCH on the guitar. It is more of an extension of his body than a mere instrument. Simply amazing, really. I have been to countless concerts and I have seen almost all the great guitar players, but no one matches up with Buckethead.

I don't buy shirts at concerts since they seem to always be too small (no matter what size I buy). I got The Elephantman's Alarm Clock and Inbred Mountian. I have not had the time to listen to either yet. I suspect they will get lots of play on my way out to Las Vegas.

Rob, perhaps you can convince Brian to get you one tonite. I see that Buckethead is playing in San Diego TONITE.

I don't think Brian was able to make it there, because he
hadn't mentioned anything about it. I don't think he knew.

All non-believers bow down! B is the baddest and I'm so glad you got to go to the show. I'm teaching my daughter to call him Uncle Buck.

Rob, keep your eyes on this website, Elephant... will be available pretty soon. Inbred... was tour-only up until recently as well.

Talk of irony. His practice amp is an old Peavy Bandit 65.
That was one of the first amps I ever bought, and I still use it.
