Well my father in law apparently got tired of me laughing at him and finally decided to guy buy a car with some guts. I made some suggestions, but he brought home a 2006 Mustang GT a couple of weeks ago. I awarded him an 'E for effort'. Now he's got this guy who's pimping his ride and putting all kinds of goofy body shit on the car as if that was gonna make it any faster. Their house is just a few paces from my office here, so sometimes I join them next door for lunch. When I got there today, my father in law introduces me to this Rustang-pimper and says "This is my son in law Sylvan- he's got a Buick GN" to which Mr. Mustang Man kinda shrugs and says "Those are pretty cool, I guess" and walks off. I really wish that the GN wasn't in sleep mode right now 'cause I'd break up their bitchy little Mustake party with a quickness. Sorry, had to vent.

Aw, relax. A Mushbang is just a chick car anyway and the guy knows it and now has some sort of Hot Rod envy. Mustangs are for daily driving and little else. Guys buy these antiquated pieces of crap and spend thousands of dollars getting them to be where a good F Body is from the factory.
Racer (sees a new blog subject) X

wow i thought i was the only person in the world who had encounters with ford owners. i mean i go to school with honda kids that all they do is say ur car is slow its a v6, but yet there 4 cylinder is "fast". and the ford kids are helarious when the honda guys get with them, cause then, (automaticly) if you drive a buick GN and rebuild it, its a worthless POS. but noone will race the "POS" because they dont want to waste their time... :jerkit;
ford owners are just poor chevy owners...
"young" honda owners are just plain stupid. i say young because there are some badass hondas owned by some older guys here in town and they give me mad props even though they can wax my ass... lol :supz:

The worst part is he keeps telling me that I'm more than welcome to come over and watch the modifications being made to his car as if I would think that's so cool or something.

Sylvan, put yourself in your FIL's mechanics shoes. Would you want to talk about someone elses manly hotrod? I mean, it's like, "man, your dick is HUGE".

Exactly, and since getting him/them to admit it is unlikely I am forced to bitch about it here. lol

LoL, and we dont mind listening to you bitch...err... at least I dont.
So tell the guy. "c'mon, ask me about it. ask me how it feels, ask me what it's like" :rofl;

If I had the car all ready to go, I'd just roll on over there and ask "Who here wants to run for titles? You? You over there? C'mon hotshots, your mighty Mustangs'll dust my car for sure, right?" and enjoy them squirming as they look for a reason why not to.

It's gets even better when they tell that a GN can only drive in a straight line.

I raced a mustang once...... I lost

Its not like that around here. Most of the Mustang guys
around here are pretty knowledgable about cars in general.
A friend of mine and his father opened a part time buisness
hopping up stangs. I even got them as customers for the machine shop.
I helped a buddy of mine put a 466 into an '89 notchback that
was originally a 4 banger. That car is freakin' silly ! On a sunny
day, its honestly like driving on ice ! It'll beat my GN hands down.
We're always bustin' each other's ball about who's car is better and stuff
like that. But, it's all in good fun. The local cruise nights
are even sponsored by a Mustang club. They let in all kinds of cars and trucks
with no predjudice. No preferential treatment of any kind.
Wheras I haven't had the opportunity to race my buddy yet, I have
never lost a race in my GN to a mustang. And, I've raced many.
I have lots of respect for the guys that build their cars right, and even
more respect for those that don't miss the 2nd gear shift ! :atbeer:

i wanna start a GA turbo buick club and meet right in my front yard ever night so the ricers will stop riding by with their fart cannons screaming, "IM GAY, and cant afford a real car." lol and the stangs who dont believe in exhaust... at all. thats the only mod that seems to be allowed is no exhaust.

People are just ignorant, shake it off........las t year Bryan and I went to the track and I raced a bunch of Rustangs, who kept calling me Babe, which pisses the hell out of me, anyway, they laughed and kept saying "I am racing a "GIRL" with a grand national, like that is fast or something, then when I wanted to walk over and slap the shit out of them (bryan would not let me) I just smiled went into the staging lanes, raced them and WON...(the guy I raced had a GT manual.. then stopped by them in the pits and they all bowed down to me.......the Mustang people know that GN's are quicker but everyone likes to talk the talk......I just ignore people....
-
Maybe it ain't so bad. I went over there for lunch today and the guy was asking if it would be alright for him to come by and see my car.

make him give you a hand job first
