Post by: Nasty Wendy on September 06 2013, 08:31:39 PM
The game is Nationally televised live on channel FS1 (Fox Sports 1). He is #93 for John Curtis.

Overall he played a good game.  We got some material for the highlight reel.  He knows what he has to work on.  His worst series was the first series of the game.  After that though he asserted himself well.  Several tackles in the backfield and a couple punishing hits on the quarterback, one led to a rushed throw that was picked off.  His attitude is on his room for improvement.  Now we have to get ready for another Nationally ranked opponent in St. Thomas Aquintas.  They are Florida's State Champion in their largest classification 7A.  We have a 2A enrollment.  David vs Goliath.

Glad to see the Hants are carrying on the tradition!

LOL.  Well Teve I didn't send my son to Hahnville.  I would have but it didn't make sense.  He is at John Curtis Christian School.  He is a senior and they've captured the State Title his sophomore and Junior seasons along with the National Title his Junior season.  We are hoping for the same success this year.  Hahnville may make a run this year but for my son's stay they weren't going to be poised for the run John Curtis has provided.  We opted to pay for Highschool tuition in exchange for the relief we'd receive in college tuition due to the exposure he'd receive playing for and starting for a national powerhouse.  That should result in paid highschool for free college.  I think it was a good move.  As much as I hated to deprive my alma mater of a promising prospect it was in his best interest to send him elsewhere.  So far in his career at John Curtis they have lost only two football games.  One in the regular season his freshman year and that same year they lost in the state title game.  The exposure he has gotten there is well worth the price of tuition.

Yeah!  I could not think of Hahnville but I could think of the Hants!  LOL  Mind is long gone.

That is great.  I hope I see him on TV saying, "Dad, I'm buying you a new house and a Cadillac" in a few years!  Then I can tell everyone that I remember that boy when he was smaller than the dog!

LOL.  Dad would be happy to stay in his current house.  He could say "Dad, I'm building you a bigger garage and buying you a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 convertible". :player:

Well we lost our game tonight.  We played St.Thomas Aquinas of Florida and lost 27-13.  We faught hard to the end but hurt ourselves badly with turnovers.  The worst one came on a scoring drive, fumbled as we crossed the goal line.  That should KILL our shot at repeating as National Champions so its time to refocus on winning STATE.  That won't be an easy task as there is a high Nationally ranked team in the way of that task as well.  Edna Karr.

I caught part of that on TV last night, but I did not see your son during the time I watched.  Too bad they lost.

Aquinas controlled both lines of scrimmage for much of that game.  They brought the meat truck with them.  Our offense would move the ball well when we went fast pace and wore them out.  There were several questionable injuries to slow us down where the injured player was back on the field the very next play. :rolleyes;  No excuses though because it was our turnovers that sealed our fate.  My son played 90% of the defensive snaps.  They moved him around a bit but he was there.  First time he's ever been triple teamed by three D1 prospects simultaneously

Sorry, we don't have them on hand.  We have access to them to use to make the highlight film to send out to schools.  We'll do that at the half way point in the season.  I'll post up the highlight film when its made.
