Its very solid and sturdy. 
so much nicer having a arm rest while driving

I have the foam one that matches the seats in my GN.
I would love to have a cup holder for my beer though...

I do like that one better than the box looking one with no cup holders I bought in Bowling Green a couple of years ago.

So it literally sits atop of the original? Does it lock anywhere so it wont move?

It overlays 3 sides with felt lining- it's snug and doesn't move.
