Title: Wide Band Sensor Placement
Post by: Jeff on August 08 2013, 12:43:34 PM
I'm heading to exhaust guy So he can weld my bung in my do for the sensor. Plx suggests 36" from Turbo. I have yet to measure it out to see where it leaves me but I'm curious of the angle. Straight or angled or doesn't matter much..
            Thx

that location will work for a fast sensor ,  for the bosch youll need to move it further from the turbo ... on the last bend of the DP under the car  and you want the sensor above the 9:00 position to prevent moisture from accumulating in the sensor tip

Here's where I put it on the catless y-pipe I just built for our TBSS.

On my Buick it is under the car at the back of the downpipe.

I would put the downpipe on the car, get under it and pick out a spot.

On my THDP it's past the last bend facing up and towards the engine. It was so close to the dump I bought a stainless band clamp to make sure it didn't get fresh air at low CFMs.

The last thing you want to do is weld the bung and have it put the sensor into sheet metal, where it can be changed, or where the header burns the wiring off.
