Title: Fuel line O-rings
Post by: dennisL on August 28 2012, 10:54:35 AM
While changing my fuel filter I noticed the o-rings on the hard lines looked funky.  They are the original ones from 1987.  I left them alone and put in the new filter, but now I'm not sure that was the right thing to do.  Its not leaking, but I can only check with static fuel pressure.  At 60 lbs it might be a different story.

So my questions are:
1- How important are these two o-rings?
2- If they are critical, where can I get new ones?
3- The new filter is a Fram G3727 that I've had on the shelf for at least 5 years.  Is there a better filter that I should be using?

Thanks,
Dennis

Why are those called "injector" with two size o-rings while these are only one size?

Dave even that pic looks like 2 top rows are 8 Injector/Regulator orings while the bottom 2 rows look they belong on the metal tubing for Feed/Return/Pump lines.
Just a guess but I have a few sets here from here & there over the years & the injector ones are always fatter. Altho maybe I'm seeing the pic funny???

Thanks, guys. I can get the o-rings from Napa (2-18416 (Echlin Fuel System - 1 of each size, supply & return lines) or better yet since I only need the supply line size, I think I'll order a few from Summit (thanks Steve)

By the way, if you tell Amazon its for a 1987 Buick Regal while at

this message appears "This product does not fit your 1987 Buick Regal". (??)

I changed the fuel filter because it had been on there a long time, and was hoping that would solve my problem of the regulator not increasing pressure with boost.  Well, it didn't.  So its either the Accufab regulator or the Walbro fuel pump thats bad.  The regulator is older so I just ordered a rebuild kit for it.

In the meantime, I'll get some new fuel line rubbers because I respect your opinion and apparently, you guys always practice "safe fuel". :icon_lol:
