Curious as to how I loop the oil cooler hoses so that i could eliminate using an oil cooler? I'm about to purchase a new F-body radiator due to my old one being beyond repairable. I plan to purchase an external tranny cooler next week, but i def need to run a temporary set up for now, which i plan to run my tranny lines straight into the F-body until the external gets here. I need this done today so any feed back would be cool. So, to clarify: I need to know how to loop oil cooler hoses. I was told that the threading for the tranny cooler on the F-body was an exact fit of our stock tranny, but what was located at a diff spot.

And i read somewhere that the F-body radiator that came in the '89 Iroc 5.7 was diff than the v6 version. Something about the core being 1/4" thicker or something.

So, from the above posts, I get the impression that the car is now running?
You look for a brass fitting that the ends of the two hoses will screw into, or, you remove the oil filter, put a socket on the big nut that you saw in the picture, unscrew it. Once removed, you can pull the cooler adapter off and screw the filter back on to the base....
Here, I went out to the shop and took a pic for you. You see fitting that screws thru the cooler adapter? It is threaded male on one end for the filter to screw onto and female on the other end that screws on to a similar fitting coming out of the oil pump housing. After you remove this fitting and the adapter, you can screw the filter back on. See the fifth picture down for what you will have left when you remove what I am holding in my hand in the attached pic.

That sounds like a task. Radiator might not be an issue. brakes? eh. other than that its ready to go?

Not really a big task...I am just not motivated...so me fresh fuel and it should be ready to go other than I need to put the new weatherstripin g on the top frames
