This is a really nice board and I hate to see people quibbling over relatively unimportant things.  I am well aware that a couple of people consider this to be a private club with a handful of posts a week.  If so requested, I don't mind leaving.  I accept the responsibility for suggesting that people join this board.  Having said that, ...

Personally, I think the word "fuck" is way overused, but, I don't associate "fuck" with respect as I went to an all male military school, worked in the oil exploration business, and have a 28 yr old son that thinks it is the mainstay of his otherwise excellent vocabulary.

I have known Sylvan for a long time and his private conversation reflects a broad knowledge and a good vocabulary and I respect his opinions as much as I do my own so I do not take any umbrage from his public pronouncements .  If he feels that it is part of his public persona, I may cringe at times, but, I did not feed him growing up so it's not a serious concern.  This is the internet, after all.  For some, it is all the life they have.  For others, it is a welcome diversion from reality as well as a great source of knowledge once you learn to separate b.s., agendas, etc. from the truth....and that is not always easy.  Sometimes it takes years for the truth to emerge from the veneer of bias and b.s.

The Net provides a ready outlet to practice our right of free speech no matter what degree of dumbness we may put into cyberspace at times.  I get irritated when some feel their right to speak freely gives them the right to denigrate the beliefs of others even tho' our system clearly allows that right.  It seems to me that if one wants to demand that right, he should allow others the same rights without elevating one right over the other, but, that is what I would put into the class of respect.

That  is sometimes difficult as I sometimes demonstrate with regard to politics, etc.  I have a great difficulty in respecting another's rights when I catch him creating facts or altering them to support his beliefs so that makes me a hypocrite at times.

Anyone that passes by is welcome to spend a few days with me and decide for themselves the magnitude of my asininity. You have to get up and get your own drink as I have not trained a dog to do that as of yet.
