For the last week I have been hearing a clanking noise when cranking the car over. I figured it was the starter going south.
Well then it started to "clank" when I shut the car off. Ok still starter...
Then it clanked when I reved in nuetral.... ok hmm
Took it back to Art again to see if the converter bolts were loose... yep. One was just sitting there. No threads threaded. Ok phewww caught that one. The second one was good and the third was.....was... ..was.....was. ...was.....was .... hey where the fuck is the third one??? :mad:
So basically I had one bolt transfering all the power to the trans. :rolleyes;
Ok thanks
Then later on I stall in the middle of an intersection while turning... what the hell. Fired right back up and drove it home.
Its a never ending uphill battle that will never end.
Next story I assume will be my brakes failing. :psix;
-
No, it will probably be Art Carr's crew being dragged around on a chain behind your car

Did they reuse the old bolts? Buick doesn't have the stock TC bolts in stock, so I got mine from a girl I was doin' at a Chevy dealer for free. Good girl, just gave her a part # x 3. Ask for Monte Carlo SS bolts, they're the same thing, preloaded with that factory thread locker.

You are damn lucky the last bolt didn't fall out!!
-
I couldnt bee so lucky....wonde rful day? Let me explain my trip to BPG starting last Friday.We hooked the RV to the trailer but had a tough time because for some reason, the back up camera was not working, oh well,we left for the event, all was good,parked at the track, got everything set up only to find the rear A/C unit in the motorhome blew up....no biggie, we still had the front one and it will keep things comfortable. Attempt to race at the track (car on kill nonetheless) couldnt stick it so we pulled a bunch of power out, the car then develops some kind of electrical glitch and stalls twice on the starting line, back to pits. Looked around and found nothing EXCEPT a low radiator and then checked the dry sump tank, it was WAY full of water/oil. The wife calls from home, she is leaving with the kids and the dogs......the A/C quit running and it was 96 degrees in the house and it was only noon! This is only Saturday! Sunday we drive home from Salem, 2 hrs before we get home the generator in the motorhome quit, I think the voltage regulator took a shit so we had to ride the rest of the way home in 100deg weather...more$$$$$$$$! Finally I get home, I amd robbing tools from the trailer to replace the condenser fan on the A/C at home when I notice the pass door open on the race car INSIDE the trailer, well it beat itself against the fenderwell, bent the door hinges from the weight so much that it broke a big piece off the carbon fiber front end and further fucked up the door in the front! ALL THIS IN 4 DAYS!!!!!! VERY expensive weekend. I take your converter bolt ANYDAY!
-
yeah your telling me!
Thank god for that last bolt. They used some of their own bolts that had tock tight on them this time around. then they also added some lock tight to them.
-
Art Carr rocks!
-
Phil, you have ar restalled D5 right?
-
yes I do sire.
-
Shouldn't need more than stock. Also, they will install them, but you should recheck them as well down the road, things do come loose. And your neck breaking shifts weren't helping any. How does she shift and run now?
-
Shifts are ok still. Same as when you were in the car.
I still can't womp on the throttle with out getting KR. I can ease into boost but can't jump on it.
But I got to ease in Sllllooooowwww ww
-
Wow looks like Bill had a fun day too :jerkit;
-
If they come loose again, pull the trans and look at the flexplate for cracks, sometimes if it is busted it will "flex" under load and cause the bolts to back out....
-
That would suck.
I thought my BG horr story was bad.
