code 12

Code 12 is not an error code. It is not stored into memory when detected. It basically shows that the ECM diagnostics are working correctly. When the ALDL port B is  grounded to put the ECM into diagnostic mode, Code 12 indicates the beginning and end of the trouble code reporting  sequence.
